This is a blog about society and conflict in a global environment. It is about the relationship between the military and all of us. It is about how privatization of security can affect all of us, about migration, about war and about peace. I am a war and peace sociologist and this blog is the result of my research, teaching and interests.
This blog is being written with academics and other professionals in the field in mind, but also in the hope that it will spark the imagination and interest of readers from all walks of life.
I hope this blog will be a primer for discussion and that it will allow readers to see how sociology contributes to the study of war and peace. While the posts represent my point of view, which is a result of my work and understanding, I welcome your opinions and hope that this will be a means to interact with others who are also interested in understanding how our world really works.
